The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has increased the number of seats for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) May 2018.

As per the official website, “Candidates should be among the top 2,24,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper 1 of JEE (Main) 2018.”

Earlier, 2,20,000 candidates were eligible for the exam.

Reasons for increasing the number of seats:

  • It will help to avoid vacancy in IITs
  • “Growing vacancy in IITs is a big concern. While the demand for popular courses seems to be growing with each passing year, filling vacant seats for unpopular courses is becoming an uphill task.
