Artificial Intelligence threat to humanity or not?
Answers- AI is the intelligence by machines. I don't think that it may be a threat for humanity because at the end of the day its just a machine which is created by humans. so if human can create it, its not difficult them to destroy it as well while start feeling that it may harm to humanity.A country can use AI to protect it from enemies also it can be useful to decrease burden of humans in many fields like Robots can deploy on borders so that there will be less harm of armies during ceisefires,wars etc, also can deploy in old age homes to take care of old people, in hospitals to nursing patients etc. If there are many pros so some cons are also there a threat to overtake humans. But its quite less if it will be controlled properly i don't think this problem will come. Always for any intelligence machines there should be a main control switch which should be surveillance by few private and reliable people so that if people start getting threats of AI machines it will immediately be power cut and also can protect its data because the main control switch is under selected people.

i don't know much about AI so whatever i learnt from different sources i tried to explain. i don't know whether it right or wrong.thanku

Q. Does AI really pose an existential threat to humanity? In the light of the ongoing debate on threats of AI, discuss critically.
Ans. Artificial Intelligence means imparting intelligence in machines to doing specific actions. There is a debate going on AI whether it is a threat to humanity along with benefits of it.
AI benefits:
1. Can help in doing multiplicity of tasks quickly.
2. Can help in reducing human misery.
3. Meeting needs of increasing population.
4. Reaching remote places to gain knowledge and prosperity.

Existential threat:
The potentially more apocalyptic implications are described by Nick Bostrom, a Swedish philosopher based at the University of Oxford. Bostrom hypothesises a Darwinian scenario; he believes that if humans create a machine superior to us and allow it to learn through the internet, there is no reason why it would not act to secure its dominance over humans as a race in the same way as would occur the biological world. He uses the example of humans and gorillas to demonstrate the one-sided nature of the relationship, and how an inferior intelligence always depends on a superior one for survival.
Clearly, super-intelligence, if not implemented safely, could have some rather disastrous repercussions for humanity. One main argument is simply that humans aren’t foolish enough to build a machine that would be more intelligent than us without having sufficient safeguards in place particularly if the AI had even a tiny chance of destroying humanity.

Conclusion:
All in all, the threat that super-intelligence poses to humanity is in many ways a matter of perspective and interpretation – but it’s certainly not an issue to be taken lightly. To quote the great Stephen Hawking:
“The rise of powerful AI will be either the best, or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity. We do not yet know which.”’
