  3. Discuss the significance of and the measures needed to attain the target 3, 6 &11 for the sustainable development goals (SDG).
Sustainable development goals are a set of 17 goals taken up and targeted by the United Nations, These goals are set to be achieved by 2030 by all member countries. They are associated with the factors concerning the overall development of human beings and the world as a whole. SDG replaced millennium development goals (MDG) which ended in 2015. Unlike MDG these goals are setout for all the countries irrespective of their development status.
    Goal 3:Good health and wellbeing.
Significance of this goal is to improve overall physical and mental health condition of individuals. Majors include steps for decreasing the infant mortality rate, maternal mortality ratio. Creating awareness about various communicable and non communicable diseases and reducing them through prevention, vaccination and treatment. Promote mental health and wellbeing. Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health care services. Reduce the use of narcotic drugs and consumption of alcoholic substances.
Measures needed for attaining this goal includes:
Infrastructural development of public hospitals both in rural and urban areas. Availing affordable generic medicines in medical stores. Creating awareness about various diseases (physical and mental) and measures to prevent them. Periodic vaccination drives especially for the new born and the mother to reduce maternal mortality ratio and infant mortality rate. Investing in research and development in medical sector. Connecting even the remotest part of the country with a hospital. Creating awareness about the importance of health insurance facilities.
Though government has launched various schemes like PM bharatiya janausadhi pariyojna, PM surakshya matrivtya vandana etc, but these are not enough , we need to go a long way to attain this goal.
Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation.
Availability of clean water and proper sanitation is a basic necessity to lead a dignified life .People living in developing and below economies are struggling to meet these basic amenities. The aim of this goal is universal access to safe and affordable drinking water for all and access to adequate sanitation and hygiene. The goal also targets to improve water quality by checking pollution caused by dumping of hazardous chemicals to water resources.
Government needs to see that people have access to clean and usable water. Special attention should be given to water scarce and drought prone regions. Though toilet building has taken a surge with the implementation of swach bharat abhiyan and proactive steps like ranking cities and villages on cleanliness ratings and tagging them with open defecation free is definitely a positive step in attaining this goal , but steps are to be taken to attain behavioral change among the people. And implementation of these schemes is to be properly done at the ground level. Other steps like the measures taken by the national green tribunal in protecting and cleaning the rivers are commendable but a lot more needs to be done and without active participation of the public attainment of this goal seems challenging.
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities.
Sustainable cities and communities are those who have a sustainable infrastructure with zero or least adverse effect on the environment. Having accessible, affordable and sustainable transportation system. Protecting and promoting world culture and natural heritage, having sustainable economic growth are some of the characteristics of a sustainable city and community.
Steps like checking unplanned urbanization, avoiding real estate buildings by burring water resources, Creating green parks and lakes in cities, promoting hanging gardens in space constrain spaces and checking the air quality and taking measures to curb pollution of any form in the nearby areas will lead to the attainment of this goal.

Though we have so far not been a failure as compared to other countries when it comes to the attainment of this goals , but we need to go a long way to achieve it . This challenge can be attained only by active participation of both the government with its various schemes and the general public with sheer determination and willingness to abide by the need of the hour in achieving it.

  4. Significant and measure need to sustainable development goal
The sustainable development goal are set of 17 goals. Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs own needs.
A healthy life style and clean environment is best solution of all disease. SDG policies are for 15 years.
The sustainable development goals also known as the global goals are a universal call to action to end poverty , protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity…

Target to attain SDG 3,6 & 11 which are ensure that the healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages , ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all and make cities and human settlements inclusive , safe, resilient and sustainable.

    • To reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births .
    • End the epidemics of AIDS, TB ,Malaria and combat hepatitis, and other communicable disease.
    • Halve global death and injuries from road traffic accidents.
    • To achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all.

    • Enhance inclusive and sustainable urbanization and capacity for participatory, integrated and sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries.
    • One of the most important thing is behaviour changes in our society.
    CONCLUSION:-
After the national urban sanitation policy(NUSP) in 2008, a national policy on facel sludge and septage management (FSSM) was released earlier this year. Raising awareness about correct design and construction practices of on – site systems- home – owners and residents. We must ask our governments to invest in creating treatment facilities that our cities can afford election time………

  6. ethiopia: parents delay picking names for their newborn babies by a month or more. why delay? why not taking this special ceremony in time? well, they delay because they are afraid that thier baby will die. how can it be that 2.6 million babies die around the world before they are even one month old.
today the greatest risk of catastrophies dosent look like a ufo or any erruption.. but it looks like a virus. if any thing that kills 10 million people in few decades its most likely a highly infectious virus. not measels but microbes. we have actually invested very less in a system to stop epidemics.

how can government reach the goal of good health and well being?
we need to invet in healt workers, close to people. we need to invest in social protection floor so that people who want services can buy services what is the use of a service if it cannot be used.. when people cannot afford it?
invetment in supply chains is necessary..
a global alert and response system is needed
we need a strong health systsem i.e., we need to strengthen our health system.
we need to creat medical corps with the expertise.

we need to step research and development like vaccines and research diagonostics.
investing in these will make world more just and safer.
