Upper Padre Partners are in bankruptcy court after land they own around Schlitterbahn went into foreclosure.
We have an update on that property near Schlitterbahn, that was supposed to be turned into a riverwalk similar to the one up in San Antonio. Council member Greg Smith — whose district 4 includes that area on the Island — has clarified the situation with that project.
According to Councilman Smith, a petition was filed in a San Antonio court on Monday which would require the Upper Padre Partners to declare bankruptcy. Right now, the group has until the end of the month to respond to that petition.
Meanwhile, Smith says, it’s not looking good for the proposed Park Road 22 bridge.
