Before getting into the specifics of Andhra Pradesh state medical admission, let me first inform you that until last year Andhra Pradesh was not participating in All India Quota. Andhra state students competed for 12 state govt medical college seats which comes to around 1900. But this year, as Andhra Pradesh is participating in All India Quota, students have additional 4500 All India Quota Seats for which they are compete. Apart from this Andhra has 19 private medical colleges, with 2700 mbbs seats. Out of these 2700 seats, more than 1000 seats are available under state govt quota at subsidized fees of Rs 60000 per annum.
Let me give overview of the fees structure in govt as well as private college now. For govt college, the fees would be around Rs 11,400 per year. For A-category seats, which is the Andhra pradesh state govt quota seat in private colleges, the fees is capped at Rs 60000/year. For management seats, the fees is 11.5 lakhs/annum and for NRI it is double that of management seat.
As I told earlier, there are 1900 seats from govt colleges and 1200 seats from private colleges which comes under Andhra Pradesh state govt quota under the subsidized fees. For these 3000 seats, more than 35000 students who cleared NEET are competing this year.
Now lets move on to category based reservations in Andhra Pradesh mbbs admission. 50% of the seats are reserved for Open category. BC category is divided into 5 subcategories A to E and it comprises of 29% of the total seats. SC candidates get 15% reservation whereas ST candidates get 6% reservation in medical admission.
Here we are seeing the splitup for the BC category. For each subcategory, the reservation percentage is given here. The B category gets the highest percentage whereas the C category gets the lowest percentage.
Andhra Pradesh is divided into two regions based on two universities, Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University. Northern andhra districts comes under the Andhra University area and Southern districts come under Sri Venkateswara University.

There is another category I.e. Non local category means students belongs to Andhra Pradesh but studied outside the state..These candidates are eligible for 15% unreserved category for which local category students will get priority…So sir what will you suggest this category students,should they go for the state where they studied or should they participate in Andhra Pradesh..
