After four long years,
CompTIA finally released
the NEW 900 series A+ exams.
When you compare the old 800 series A+ objectives
with the new 900 series A+ objectives,
there is some good news, and there is some bad news.
First of all, the good news.
They dropped over 100 items from the 800 series objectives.
And now, here’s the bad news.
They have added over 400 items to the new 900 series objectives!
Over the past four years
there has been a great deal of new technology.
And the new exams require that you
to KNOW all that new technology.
The new exams include
ports and accessories of mobile devices,
Mac OS, Linux, Cloud Concepts, Networked Hosts,
troubleshooting mobile OS and app issues,
and troubleshooting mobile OS’s
and app security just for starters!
You will be expected to know all those classic Unix/Linux commands like…
ls, cd, pwd vs. passwd, mv, cp, rm, grep, chown, and (my favorite) chmod.
CompTIA regularly changes the questions
in the “REAL” Exam every few months.

CompTIA is now using performance-based testing.
That means that you not only need to know the answers,
but now you will need to show you can actually do the work!
