M777 is a artillery gun made of TITANIUM and ALUMINUM alloys weighs just 4 Tonnes making it transportable
in helicopters.
-> India – US signed a deal in 2016 under foreign military sale (FMS)
-> India ordered 145 M777 Guns
-> Out of 145 Guns , 25 Will be imported and 120 Will be assembled in India.
why in news ?
Initial Test was burst last year following a barrel burst caused by faulty ammunition supplied by the Ordnance Factory
Board. It made to pause the trails.
-> Now ARMY to RESUME M777 Trails after rectifying the defect.

-> FASTER VISAS FOR MINORITIES FROM 3 NATIONS
-> Home ministry has further liberalized for granting LTV's ( LONG TERM VISA'S) to minorities from PAK, BANGLADESH, AFGHANISTAN.
-> Minorities include Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Christian and Jain communities, Who entered INDIA on or before DEC 31st 2014
AMENDMENT BILL
The citizenship amendment bill , 2015 that proposes citizenship to Hindus, Jain's, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians and Buddhists from the three
nations who came to India before 2014 has hit a hurdle because this may results to illegal migrants to ASSAM from BANGLADESH.
-> At present there are 2 Lac Hindu and Sikh refuges from the 3 nations living in India.
