HYDERABAD: The Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) here on Tuesday demanded that the state not collect SSC examination fee from students studying in government schools.
They said government is going back on its word of providing free education, irrespective of caste, if one gets enrolled in government school by collecting exam fee.
“In 2016, when we met the director of government examination, he assured us that from the next academic year examination fee will not be collected . However, the same was not implemented . Again, for this year, the government on Monday released a notification asking students to pay the fee,” said M Ravinder, president, TTF adding that the government should immediately withdraw the circular.
