There was a bitter relationship between Antonio and Shylock because Antonio had done several acts against Shylock which triggered the bitterness between there . Some of the acts are as follows- 1- Antonio mocked at his gains, hindered him to make millions, heated his enemies. 2- He called him a dog at the Rialto, which was like character assassination and some more reasons are also there. And because of these acts of Antonio , he thought of taking revenge to Antonio. Overall , as far as I am concerned Shylock was good in character because he hadn't done anything as Antonio to hurt anyone's self respect.
