In this video tutorial we will discuss the some previous years’ questions asked in SSC examinations.Based on the theorems on tangents we will discuss the trick. These questions repeatedly asked in different examinations.
Tangents:- A line segment touches only at one point of a circle is called a tangent
of the circle and the point is called point of contact or tangent point.
1 . A tangent to a circle is perpendicular to the radius through the point of contact.
2 . One and only one tangent can be drawn to a circle at a given point on the circumference
3 . The perpendicular to a tangent through its point of a contact passes through the centre of the circle
4 . From any point outside a circle two tangents can be drawn to it and they are equal in length.fig
5 .Length of tangents drawn from any external point to the circle is equal.
5 .The angle between a chord and a tangent drawn at the end point of chord is equal respectively to the angle formed in the corresponding alternate segment.
