  1. The forward reaction is favoured and therefore a higher yield of ammonia is produced. If the temperature is increased, the equilibrium position will move to the left, as to oppose the increase in temperature (the forward reaction is exothermic)

  2. In exothermic reactions, increase in temperature decreases the equilibrium constant, K, whereas, in endothermic reactions, increase in temperature increases the K value. Le Chatelier's principle applied to changes in concentration or pressure can be understood by having K have a constant value.

  3. Because there are more moles of reactants, an increase in volume will shift the equilibrium to the left in order to favor the reactants. When there is a decrease in volume, the equilibrium will shift towards the side of the reaction with fewer moles.

  4. Le Châtelier's principle, chemical principle that states that if a system in equilibrium is disturbed by changes in determining factors, such as temperature, pressure, and concentration of components, the system will tend to shift its equilibrium position so as to counteract the effect of the disturbance

  5. Le Chatelier's Principle and how to use it to work out what happens to the position of equilibrium if the conditions are changed for a reaction which is in dynamic equilibrium.

  6. All about chemical equilibrium Part 2 of 5. Home → Equilibrium → Le Châtelier Principle . The Le Châtelier Principle Shifting the equilibrium. … This law is known to every Chemistry student as the …
