Human Health and Disease
DNA is our genetic material and not RNA due to following reasons:
1. DNA is chemically and structurally more stable than RNA
2. 2nd carbon has OH group in every nucleotide in RNA. It is a reactive group and makes RNA liable and easily degradable
3.RNA is known to be catalytic thats why it is more reactive than DNA
4. prresence of thymine in DNA in place of Uracil provides additional stability to DNA.

OH group in RNA is reactive group which make RNA unstable, for being a genetic material it should be stable as DNA is.
Another reason is RNA is unable to produce its replica, But DNA do so.
