National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2018 notification is likely to be released tomorrow, February 8, 2018. The notification would be released by the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE on the official website cbseneet.nic.in. Please note, these areas per reports and there is no official release from the CBSE as yet. Also, reports suggest that government is planning to make a 50% score in NEET examination mandatory for students planning to study medicine from universities abroad.
As reported by the New Indian Express, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is considering the move in order to ensure only the best and deserving candidates study medicine in universities abroad. Reportedly, every year, about 6000 – 7000 students travel to countries like China and Russia every year to study medicine. The number has seen an increase after NEET was made a uniform national admissions test for MBBS and BDS courses across government and private medical colleges in the country. However, the students who come back after studying medicine are often not able to clear Medical Council of India, MCI’s licentiate examination, required to practice in India.
