Lets get started. Do you know which state student secured first rank in NEET examination last year?

It is Navdeep Singh from Punjab who secured 697 marks and topped the exam. So let me start with the Punjab state first.

Punjab has 3 government medical colleges having 500 MBBS seats. It has 5 private medical colleges with 525 MBBS seats. In this video, we are going to deal with government medical college seats and how all india quota seats were filled during last year counselling.

Out of these 500 govt medical seats, punjab state fills 425 seats based on the NEET merit list of Punjab students and 75 seats are filled by all india counselling and these seats for open for students from all states of India.

Here we are seeing the competition level in Punjab. Last year, nearly 12000 students qualified in the NEET exam but only 500 got the government medical college seat.
The competition seems to be very high in the state.

The All India Rank range for reservation categories of All India Medical Counselling is given here. If you belong to Open category, your target AIR should be atleast 2000 to study within Punjab.

More than AIR, lot of students find the target NEET score to be useful. So I have given the NEET score for the corresponding AIR rank for the last year NEET exam. If you belong to Open category, you should target atleast 550 to study medicine within Punjab.
