Chennai: Shocked by the September 1 suicide of student and anti-NEET campaigner Anitha and the government’s indifference to the August 24 verdict asking teh state to arrange counselling for depressed students, Madras high court has called for details of steps taken by authorities to implement the ruling.

Justice N Kirubakaran, empathising with students who are frustrated in not landing a medical seat despite high marks in the state board examination, had on August 24 directed the state government to identify such students and offer them counselling.
