Coaching institutes in Rajasthan’s Kota said on Friday over 39,000 of their students have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 and at least 48 of them are in AIR top 100, in the test conducted for admission to various engineering colleges, including the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Last year, around 35,000 aspirants from Kota had qualified for JEE Advanced.
Nearly 1.50 lakh students from across the country enrol in the 40-odd coaching institutes in Kota, which is known as India’s coaching capital, every year to prepare for the highly competitive entrance examinations for different professional courses.
