Normalisation of scores in SSC CGL 2017: Need of the hour!
Can the difficulty level of any two exam papers be same? 100% equal? I believe its impossible. No one can ensure exact level of difficulty in two exam papers. And this is why, all major entrance exams in India, use statistical normalisation process, to normalise scores of candidates, in case exam has been conduced in multiple shifts. The exams which do normalisation of scores include – JEE, CAT, IBPS, SBI, UPSC etc.
Then why SSC is NOT using normalisation method to normalise scores of students, who gave SSC CGL 2017 in multiple shifts last month. Since exam was conducted in multiple shifts, normalisation is a must to ensure a level playing field to all aspirants.

  1. @Adda247 Rather than telling us What is normalization, tell us which shifts you think are difficult and what can happen to those aspirants score. That kind of discussion will be more helpful for everyone than this crap talk….
    Thanks

  2. In the example you have mentioned after normalisation shift1 students got more marks than some of the students of shift2 aise kaise ho sakthe hian yar????? bina kuch problm solve karke unn logoon ko jyada mark mil rahe hain in comparison with the student who has solved all the problms in the same time and managed to get more marks… this is more dan unfare to me… and agar kisi ko acha lage ya na lage ye tho sach hain ki if U wrk hard U can solve any kind of ppr U need not ask "SSC plzz give us easy ppr so that we can score 160+" hadh hai yar!!! it will not be a healthy competition…we should always work hard and we will receive d rslt wid rspct to that we hve to accpt it,we should never judge or expct d level of ppr

  3. I scored 119.5 marks reserved category but still I feel dat normalisation shud b done by SSC ….bcoz I attempted and analysed d ans keys of my fellow competitors, friends and I realised dat my shift was easy comparing with dem so guys I support normalisation and …bcoz I feel dat it cud be vice versa also Dan how would I hav felt……good work adda 247

  4. agr aap ke hisab se chle to in case agr jo student ka sample select kiya h usme sabhi ke sabhi agr kamjor rhe to fir to unka mean to km hi aayega na
..median method nhi hota h wo standrd deviation method hota h

  5. normalisation hona chahiye
    and definitely hona chahiye
Jo log iske against hai wo shayad isliye ki unke marks achhe ban rahe honge but guys aisa hmesha NH hoga ki aap hmesha un lucky people ki category me aao
may be next time aapko wo difficult shift face karni pade
tab aapko malum chalega ki normalisation hota to shayad aap bhi qualify kar paate
kuchh candidates bahut time SE mehnat krte h aur unki age limit bhi last hone pe hoti h aur by bad luck unke difficult paper aata h to unko kitna demoralized feel hota h
don't think of only yourself, think for everone.

  6. There is much difference in difficulty levels of SSC CGL 2017 papers …… ??

Some Tuffest shifts are 5(3rd), 8(3rd), 11(3rd) etc …..compare these sets with easy set paper of 19 aug., 20 Aug. etc……??

Exam must be on MERIT based, not on LUCK based..??Normalisation is a process to reduce desiparity Normalisation is equalisation process. Normalisation must be there….

If GATE, Railway, IBPS,SBI, AIEEE, IIT JEE, NEET , most of State govts etc follows normalisation …why not SSC ?????? ?????

  7. Normalisation ka oppose Sirf wahi log kar rahe Jo galti se or luckly easy set pa Gaye aur kam mehnat me high score ho gaya ….. Ab unhe pata h agar JUSTICE /normalisation hoga to unke marks ghatenge …. Aur koi muft ki chiz kyon chhode??
