HYDERABAD: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh jointly had the highest number of rank holders at this year’s JEE (Advanced).

With an all-India rank of 35, Hyderabad-based Ramya Narayanaswamy emerged as the topper among girls. With 7,505 qualifiers, the twin states together boasted of a soaring success rate, leaving behind UP with 7,210 rank holders. While none from the two states made to the top 10, Vaddela Ashrut of Hyderabad clinched the 17th rank.

In 2016, the twin states jointly had 3,965 qualifiers, including five students who ranked in the top 10, with the best being AIR 3.
