Ray Optics Total Internal Reflection Explained for IIT-JEE and NEET Physics is the topic of video lesson here in this video. When a light ray is moving from denser medium to rater medium, it moves away from the normal and angle of refraction is more than angle of incidence. As the angle of incidence further increases, angle of refraction also increases. For a particular angle of incidence called critical angle, the angle of refraction is ninety degree and the light ray grazes the boundary separating the two media. If angle of incidence in the denser medium is more than critical angle, the angle of refraction is more than ninety degree and the light ray reflects back into the same denser medium. This phenomenon is called total internal reflection.
