Concentration means amount of solute in given amount of solution ,
Types – (a) percentage concentration (b) strength (c) Molarity (d) morality (e) Molinity (f) normality (g) mole fraction (h) Mass fraction (I) ppm (j) ppb
Raoult’s law –
(A) For volatile solute – Partial pressure of a solute is the product of mole fraction and vapour pressure in pure state.
(B) For non volatile solute – relative lowering of vapour pressure is directly proportional to mole fraction of non volatile solute .
Ideal solution – These are the solutions which obey Raoults law over entire range of concentration.
Non Ideal solutions – these solutions do not obey Raoults law .
Zeotropic mixture or Zeotropes- these are the liquid mixture which can be separated by distillation.
Azeotropic mixture or Azeotropes – these are the liquid mixture which cannot be separated by distillation.
