  1. maine objectives ki bajai normal demonetization pe essay likha h, fail to nhi kr denge, if not out of 50 kitne expect kr skta hu

On Nov, 8, 2016, the honourable PM, in a sudden move announced the demonetization of Rs1000 and Rs 500 currency notes. Rs15.44 lac crore worth of notes stopped being legal tender. As a countermeasure to the rampant corruption and penetration of black money in the economy.
It was to curb the rise of tax evasion through black money, land a major hit in forgery operations, help in reducing criminal activities like money laundering, human trafficking and terrorist activities etc. Boost to digital transactions. More liquidity in the banks, so low interest rates. Many eminent economists said that it would not be effective in curbing black money and termed it a hollow move. Nearly 99% cash returned to the banking sector. Drop in GDP, fall in industrial output. Loss of jobs. Shortage of cash, forgery by bank employees and other business. With the implementation of GST and improvement in the ranking of ease of doing businesses boosted the economy. People started using digital apps like Bhim app.
Although the objectives of demonetization was noble, but the implementation was sadly efficient. It gave way from the cash based economy to a less cash economy boosting the digital transactions. JAM trinity – Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile banking got a major boost.
