India is under phase of demographic dividend with 65% of population below 35 years. By 2050, population of old age people will be increased. If social security programs are not launched presently, it will turn into demographic liability.

Social and economic growth is fuelled by demographic factors like ageing, financial inclusion hence social security become implicit. Less job opportunities, social mobility leads to Rapid urbanization and giving concept of nuclear family, hence old parents are forced to live at Old Age Home leaving them mentally traumatized . social security programs aims at empowering old people to live their life with dignity and independently.

For social security, government has launched Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana for their social and economic mobility . The age for National pension scheme is increased to 65 . For financial inclusion ,banking services are provided at home . Along with this National Health Protection Scheme provide secondary and tertiary Healthcare services free of cost and it will promote joint family structure as one major reason for the separation is out of pocket health expenditure.

one can take example in Maharashtra, where old people rent young generation to spend their free time. They took them for thei health checkup and share their distress with them. Such type of programs should be promoted in all districts as well.

From the ancient culture old people are considered as gems of knowledge. As our government is also promoting sabka Saath sabka Vikas so we should take forward this vulnerable section of society and bridge this generation gap.
