You can make online or offline notes; you can download Evernote and use it for note making, Kuldeep says. Why are the notes so important? Students have to write an answer in about 8-9 minutes and one has to write over 200 words. So it is a prerequisite that you should have 3-4 facts related to the topic in your mind all the time. Hence notes become important.
Also the syllabus of UPSC CSE is not very defined. Take a topic such as the ‘investment model’.It contains many branches within it, many sub topics within it (such as BOOT, BOT which means built, operate, transfer etc.). So there is not much boundary in UPSC syllabus. So how to deal with so many small facts and keep them in memory? How to deal with various sub sections of the syllabus? And this problem presents itself in all the GS papers (and GS papers and syllabus are interconnected). One is able to revise them successfully 10-15 days before the examination if we make short, smart notes. Through an illustration using e-NAM (agriculture marketing), Kuldeep explains how it is connected with issues like globalization and agriculture, digital India and so on. So it is important that you know 3-4 facts on each topic to aid your answer writing. With one example (on Minimum Support Price or MSP), Kuldeep explains how 3-4 solid facts related to this point in the syllabus will help you deal with any type of question related to MSP. Such a fact sheet helps revision too; fact sheet helps you write answers easily as in the exam hall there is a huge rush and you are not able to recall and write everything you have read for the syllabus.
