1. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad or IIMA) is a public business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was the second Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to be established, after IIM Calcutta.[6]
Established in 1961, the institute offers Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in Management and Agri-Business Management, a Fellowship Programme and a number of Executive Training Programmes.[7] The Institute’s founding director was Ravi J. Mathhai.[8] Other notable founding figures were the Indian physicist Vikram Sarabhai and Indian businessman Kasturbhai Lalbhai.[8] The Director as of November 2017 is Errol D’Souza
2. Indian Institute of Management Bangalore
Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a public business school located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Founded in 1973, it was the third IIM to be established, after IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad.[3]
It offers Post Graduate, Doctoral and executive training programmes. The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), a two-year, full-time residential MBA programme is IIMB’s flagship programme.[4] In addition to its main academic programmes, IIMB is also engaged in facilitating research, offering consultant services, conducting seminars and academic conferences and publishing journals.
3. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta
Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta abbreviated as IIM Calcutta or IIM-C, is a public business school located in Joka, Kolkata (Calcutta), India. It was the first Indian Institute of Management to be established.[1]
Established in 1961,[1] IIM Calcutta is a fully autonomous institution and offers several postgraduate and doctoral programmes in management, as well as a bouquet of executive education programmes. In addition to its main academic programmes, IIM-C is also engaged in research, consultancy, seminars, academic conferences and research publications.[2][3][4]
IIM Calcutta is the only triple accredited business school in India: it is one of only 74 b-schools around the world and 5 in Asia which are accredited by the three largest and most influential worldwide b-school accreditation associations: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.[5] It is also the only Indian business school that is a member of the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS).[6]
4. Indian Institute of Management Lucknow
The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (abbreviated IIM Lucknow or IIM-L) is an autonomous public business school in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1984 as the fourth Indian Institute of Management (IIM) by the Government of India. IIM Lucknow offers post-graduate diploma, fellowship and executive programs in management. It is recognised as an “Institution of Excellence” by India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development.[2] IIM Lucknow also serves as the mentor institution for the newly established IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur.[3]
