Literary Devices – In this session Amirtha talks about 5 Literary Devices which everyone should know for better communication. The Literary Devices covered are:
Similie: A simile is a figure of speech that compares two things by using the words ‘like’ or ‘as’ something else. They are compared indirectly.
Metaphor: The definition of a metaphor is “a figure of speech containing an implied comparison, in which a word or phrase ordinarily and primarily used of one thing is applied to another. For example, “the curtain of night” or “all the world’s a stage.”
Euphemism: A generally innocuous word or expression used in place of one that may be found offensive or suggest something unpleasant. Some euphemisms are intended to amuse; while others use bland, inoffensive terms for things the user wishes to downplay.
Personification: the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
Hyperbole: Exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.

Thank you & useful
that was a good lesson!
Thanks ?
Nice video Amritha. Really appreciate the content and the effort. Just to mention about the phonetics you used, it is you-phe-mism (euphemism) and hi-per-boli (hyperbole). [Not using the literal phonetics from the dictionary]
