The convention on the Right of the Person with disabilities is an internation human right treaty of the United nations intended to protect the rights and dignity of person with disabilities.
Paties to the convention are required to promote ,protect and ensure the full enjoyment of human right by persons with disabilities and ensure that they enjoy full of equality under the low .The convention has served as the major catalyst in the globle movement from viewing persons with disabilities as objects of charity, medical treatment and social protection to words viewing them as full and equal members of society with human rights.
Article 1 fundamental freedom.
Article2&3 communication, reasonable accommodation&universal design.
Article 4-32 political rights, cultural rights,convention against torture.
Article 19-information technology.
Article20 Mobility.
Article 26 Labilitation &rehabilitation.
Article 29,30 cultural life ,recreation&sport .
Article 8 human right.
Article 9 buildings &information.
Article 33 -39 national human right institutions.
Article 34 committee the right of person with disabilities.
Article 40-50 government ratification, entry into force&amendment of convention.
The UNCRPD is more holistic.
The indian government ratified the convention that is a tracit.admission that the 1995 model needed to be upgraded .
The RPwDB is more aligned to the UNCRPD than the 1995 low.

-> The Right of Persons with Disabilities Bill 2016. The Bill replaced the 1995 Disabled Act. The aim of the 1995 act are to spell out the responsibility of the state towards the prevention of disabilities, protection of rights,provision of medical care, education, employment. To create a barrier free environment for person with disabilities sharing of development benefits. In Right of Person with Disabilities Bill 2016 types of disabilities have been increased from existing 7 to 21 & center government have power to add more types of disabilities. Every child with Benchmark Disability between the age group of 6 & 18 years shall have right to free education. Creation of National and State fund will be created to provide financial support to the person with disabilities. The New Act bring our law with the United Nation Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to which India is signatory. Also Increased reservation in vacancies in government establishments from 3% to 4% for certain process or class of persons with benchmark disability.
