Delhi is a city and a union territory of India, it is bordered by Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. These states are well known for an abundance of agriculture. People burns their remains/ leftovers after harvesting, which causes problems of Smog or Mist.
Apart from this, the smoke coming from the industrial pollution, the smoke coming from the factories and the coal burning, the smoke coming from the vehicles used by us, are some another reasons for this kind of air pollution.
Winds are a bit sluggish(slow) in the winter season. In such a way, dust particles get stuck in the atmosphere which causes problems like smog.
Let’s Know About Particulate Matter which is called P.M.
Particulate Matter is the sum of all solid and liquid particles, which are unstable in the air.
Particulate Matter 2.5 is a small substance dissolvable in the air. When the level of Particulate Matter 2.5 is high, the mist (kohra) increases and the level of visibility also falls.
The diameter of the smaller particles is 2.5 micrometers or less, which includes the micro particles of dust, burnings of Garbage and Straw, Construction and waste particles.
Particulate Matter 2.5 reaches inside our lungs, which causes the greatest harm to children and elderly. It causes eye, throat, coughing and breathing problems. Lung can also be cancerous if you are in constant contact.
The normal level of Particulate Matter 10 should be 100 micrograms cubic meter (MGCM). However, in some places of Delhi it has reached 1600 microgram cubic meter and the normal level of Particulate Matter 2.5 should be 60 micrograms cubic meter but in Delhi it reaches 300 to 500 microgram cubic meters, which is very serious problem.

Pollution has become the most serious issue and everyone has to face health related hazards in their daily lives. every year We also celebrate World Environment Day on 5th June to overcome and aware people and government to such problems of environmental pollution.

For the ideal environment, it is necessary that one-third or 33% of the country’s land should be covered with forests. Trees should be planted on a large scale. Plantation of more trees will help to clean the environment.
Nature cannot be destroyed for industrialisation and urbanisation.
In today critical times, it has become necessary that all the countries of the world get together to curb the problem of air pollution.
