I think using trig formula cos x = A/H would be a lot simpler. Using the same triangle this would give cos 30 = 7/2 /r (where r is radius/hypotenuse). Rearranging gives r= 7/2/cos 30. Cos 30 is root 3/2 (see http://sciencepages.tripod.com/surd.html). Simply and QED. I found the whole ratios part a bit confusing.
How are we supposed to know the ratio of the triangles?!!!?!!!??!
