Interviewee Name is Rohit Sachdeva who got an AIR 93 scoring 872/1000 in the GATE exams of 2017. He was a student of Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) doing civil engineering.
How did you prepare for GATE?
I did my coaching long back in 2011. I already had my notes from the coaching and started started studying. Since I was also working, I knew I had to put in a lot of efforts into this.
What was your strategy?
I got hold of last three years’ question papers and started analyzing the difficulty level and what all topics were covered and how much. I started my preparation in September 2016 and tried to cover all the basic topics in detail in around 2 months. After that I started with my revisions where I took online mock tests and subject-wise tests which allowed me to know my strengths and weaknesses. Knowing these, I again started working on my weak areas. In around January, I started giving full mock tests before the
actual GATE exam to have a proper idea about the real exam.
