  1. I think here size of semicircles doesn't matter as long as both are touching each other. So Make 2 semicircles of equal radius touching each other at the center of bigger circle.. we can draw an isosceles right angle triangle in each semi circle with sides 7,7,7√2. And the radius of semi circles will be 7√2/2=7/√2. Total shaded area will be the area of a complete circle with radius 7/√2 i.e 24.5π

  2. By solving the equation sum of radius of 2 inner semi circle comes zero which is not possible ,when we assume radius at any point other than the touching point equation does not satisfy So we have to take that touching point as radius of bigger circle then radius of both circle become equal and hence area is 49π/2
