Vocabulary for IELTS with examples
Different ways to: Talk
Speak: to talk to somebody about something
Chat: to talk to someone in a casual way
Converse: to have a conversation with somebody
Babble: to talk quickly and in an exited or foolish way
Gossip: to talk about other people’s lives
Vocalize: to use words to express something
Verbalize: to express one’s feelings or ideas in words
Yak: to talk, often for a long time, about unimportant matters
I spoke to him yesterday
My friends and I often chat for hours
The men conversed over lunch
He’ll babble about his work all night if you don’t stop him
They often gossip about their classmates

Tiptoe: to walk quietly with only your toes touching the ground
