Many students have asked me, whether they have chance to get MBBS seat in Round-2 All India Quota Government college counselling for their NEET score. In this video, I am going to answer that question so that you can figure out whether you have chance in second round counselling for your neet score. At the end, I will tell you the exact All India Rank for each category who have good chance to get Government colleges through All India Quota.

Many students are alloted seats in some other state in first Round All India Counselling. They are going to vacate the seats alloted to them in the first round. You might think that they are all going to participate in the second round counselling so the competition will be same and the cutoff is not going to come down. This is not true. State counselling for 85% state quota is over in many states and for remaining states it will be over by end of this week. Students who got seats in their own state through 85% state quota have already vacated seats they got through 15% All India Quota. This is going to create lot of vacant seats in All India Quota. Not just this, students who got seat in AIIMS and JIPMER are going to vacate their seats they got in round-1 of 15% all india counselling. This is another 1000 seats. Now you would have started believing that the cutoff is going to come down significantly.

The vacancy seat matrix is already published by the Medical counselling committee. The exact number of MBBS seats vacated by students from all categories is close to 2750.

If we split the number of vacant seats by category, this is the splitup. General category vacant seats are close to 2000 and for SC category, it is close to 400 and for ST it is 170.

Now lets us see the Ist round cutoff for each category. During the first round counselling the last All India Rank who got MBBS government seat in Open category was close to 8300. You might have already guessed that if we add 2000 which is the total number of vacated seats for unreserved category after round1, the last All India Rank to get govt mbbs seat would be close to 10300 for the round-2.

I would like to remind you that many candidates who scored between 8300 to 10300 would have got seat in state counselling because in many states, the state cutoff is much lower than the All India cutoff. Considering just 20% of them vacated their seats, we can say that candidates whose All India Rank is less than 11000 has chance to get govt medical seat in round2 all india counselling.
