In this video and the next set of videos, I am going to tell you how you can get the target score. At the end of this video, you would know how to get the target neet score for any government medical college in India based on your reservation category. This video will focus on 15% All India Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges in states such as Haryana, Maharastra, Jharkhand, Karnataka. I am planning to discuss about individual state quota in my future videos.

15% of the total government medical seats are allotted by the All India Medical Counselling. This comes to around 4600 seats. Rest of the government college seats are filled by the respective state government where the college is located.

Out of these 3100 govt medical seats, Maharastra state medical counselling authority fills 2635 seats based on the NEET merit list of Maharastra students and 465 seats are filled by all india counselling. These 465 All India quota seats are open for students from all states of India.

Now lets discuss about the competition level in Mahastra. Last year, nearly 1.3 Lakh students appeared in the NEET exam but only 3100 got the government medical college seat. The competition seems to be very high in Maharastra.

The All India Rank range for reservation categories of All India Medical Counselling is given here. If you belong to Open category or Unreserved category, your target AIR should be atleast 2500 to study within Maharastra.

Out of the 600 govt medical seats available in Haryana close to 90 seats are filled by All India Counselling and the remaining 510 seats are filled by the state.

Close to 5700 Haryana students who got qualified in NEET exam fought for these 600 govt seats last year. The competition seems to be moderate.
