Admission of more than 700 students in Puducherry’s seven medical colleges and deemed universities were cancelled by the Medical Council of India (MCI) after colleges and universities were allegedly involved in irregularities. As per the rule, since 2016 it has been made mandatory for the medical students to clear NEET exam to get an admission in the medical colleges and universities. According to the council, the students joined the colleges in Puducherry last year in 2016 in violation of rules under management quota, reported NDTV and therefore their admissions were scrapped.
