I will support tharoor, we should take lessons from pakistan urdu vs Bengali language issue. In india majority people are non hindi speakers as concern South Indians hindi is the terrible language so If hindi is the national language then it will create problems for non hindi speakers, it will cause for agitation between state and centre and it will lead to divide the country just like happened in pakistan.

Yes, it's true that India's unity in diversity. But we should definitely promote hindi as official language in UN cause it's not about any state's issue but country's pride !

India lives in her diversity. Only spiritual seeking has combined us as one nation. There is nothing common other than this. Why we always bring a western concept of nationhood here? Also there are several regional languages which are more native than Hindi. I'm an Odia; apart from my mother tongue, English serves fine for me as it has international demands.

I feel about imposing Hindi in whole India is that it's not a good idea my mother tongue is Hindi I don't understand Tamil, Bengali etc but I respect the different languages Nd the common language or the language which connect us is English all of us are learning English because it's a global language so we need to learn it. At the same time I think spending crores of rupees for making Hindi an official language of UN is not very good because we need a lot of things on primary basis like investment s on research n development department , education , employment , health etc it'll increase the living standard.
if we achieve successfully these targets than after that the idea of making Hindi the 7th official language of UN is not bad at all. I feel if any non Hindi speaking pm goes to UN and speaks in English than it won't be something bad because that person doesn't know Hindi coz it's not his mother tongue any language other than mother tongue is not compulsory to get learned still everybody learns English to overcome the barrier. ( I don't know I may be wrong if it's not allowed to use any language other than the official one in UN if it's from your country than in this case the pm from south or west Bengal would definitely face difficulty which is very wrong so if there's something like that than I will also go with me. 90s k logo ko bhale Hindi nhi aata tha but abhi k generation k jo south indian log ha 50% se jada logo ko Hindi aata ha woha, year 2000 k baad jo bhi south indian child hai sab ko hindi aata hai, jisko nhi aata hai woh bhi year 2030 tak 100% south Indian log & west bengal k log hindi sikh lega, islye nhi ki uspar force kiya ja raha hai, bcoz of hindi TV channels, hindi movies, internet & social networking. Youtube k hindi channels ka bhi isme bohot bada hath hai. ajkal youtube pe english se jada hindi me knowledge, information milta hai. saare south indian ajkal khud he hindi sikh raha hai. jaha tak baat west bengal, tamil nadu k koi person k PM banne ki baat hai. bhai woh sab minister ab budhe ho gaye hai. old generation k hai woh ab, aaj koi ek aisa young person bata do west bengal or south india se jisne abhi abhi political party join kiya ho aur use hindi na aata ho. kalko woh jab minister banega usko hindi aayega he.

still today many people are struggling for food so why we spend a huge amount there. wht we bye this?? inside India we struggle for food and outside we go to show it.

our country is so beautiful n colourful because of our cultural diversity. we have different foods ,languages n dressing. by which we celebrate lots of festivals or go out side of our state for enjoying it

my humble request to southindian state plz introduce hindi language to your school. by which they can understand as well can speak hindi when needed

being Indian..its taught to us to respect every custom,religion,caste then we should respect all languages.As sir said…imposing results "initialization of rage and war" and we dont want that to happen at all."shashi tharoor sir was right at the point of conversation".And we dont want to spend upto 400cr on UN on Hindi language….

Hindi should be official language of UN because English is also official language of India, so PM of regional speaker of our country can speak in English language in UN, it's not a problem. But if Hindi be official language then the world can see the soft power of India.

Sanskrit should be our national language.But not Hindi

Does it really necessary?? I think, it is waste of money. Where india needs to develop education system, people are comfortable with English for writing exam . English not only needs in India it is also necessary for abroad. So it's time to focus on our young generation of India for their future.

I think this is waste of money time and efforts taken by sushma g bcoz that 400 cr could be used as generate employment opportunities in our country first ….i dont understand in bjp govt why they do that things which is much less important ……
And attention that matters which is not possible like INDIA country…..

Health
These issues after coming in power…..so first of all build up our country stronger in all fields .then after all the things would happen whatever u expect…..in context of international market…
So first make a strong base of our country …JAI HIND..

Indian diaspora across d world is the highest in the world but most of them share their ancestry from South India, Gujarat, bhojpuri and Bengal. Most them these ppl don't know how to spk hindi too. Proposing hindi as an official language in a bad idea.

UN me hindi add honi chahiye. english is not good language. hindi is best. english ko hatakar ak constructed language Esprento ka use kar sakte hai jo ki neutral language hai

यहाँ कुछ लोग हिंदी का समर्थन कर रहे हैं कुछ अंग्रेजी का..पर अपना विचार या मत देने के लिए अंग्रेजी भाषा का ही चुनाव कर रहे हैं.. पर मैं हिंदी का ही करूँगा क्योंकि बचपन में मेरे विद्यालय में मुझे बताया गया था कि 15 अगस्त 1947 को भारत को अंग्रेजों से आज़ादी मिल गई थी.. शायद मेरे अध्यापक गलत थे.. क्योंकि अंग्रेज तो चले गए पर मैकाले की संतानें छोड़ गए..।
अब बात करते है हमारे दक्षिण भारतीय भाइयों की..जिनके कारण हिंदी भाषा की हालत उस अबला की तरह हो गई जिसकी इज्जत उसके घर में उन्ही के लोगो द्वारा लूटी गई हो जिन्हें वो अपना मानती थी..।
तो देखिए ..पहले दक्षिण भारतीय लोगो का यह कहना कि उन्हें पहले जबरदस्ती अंग्रेजी सिखाई गई और अब हिंदी बोलने पर दबाव डाला जा रहा है ये अन्याय है…इस बात से मैं इत्तेफाक नही रखता क्योंकि अंग्रेज सिर्फ दक्षिण भारत मे ही नही बल्कि पूरे भारत पर राज करते थे और पूरे भारत मे उन्होंने अंग्रेजी फैलाने का पुरजोर प्रयास किया..तो क्या कारण है कि अंग्रेजी सिर्फ दक्षिण भारत मे ही फैली..
इस बात का उत्तर कुछ हद तक ये हो सकता है..-
देखिये पहले दक्षिण भारत के व्यक्ति हिंदी और अंग्रेजी दोनों भाषाओं से अनभिज्ञ थे..अब दक्षिण से निकलकर बाहरी दुनिया से संपर्क स्थापित करने के लिए उनके पास दो रास्ते थे..या तो वे भारतीय भाषा हिंदी सीखें या अंग्रेजो द्वारा फैलाई जाने वाली भाषा अंग्रेजी सीखे जिससे वे अंग्रेजो के कार्यालयो में लिपिक रूपी नोकर बन कर उसकी शोभा बढ़ा सकें..दूसरी बात हिंदी को एक नई भाषा के रूप में सीखना थोड़ा कठिन है अंग्रेजी की अपेक्षा क्योंकि अंग्रेजी में 26 अक्षर होतें है जबकि हिंदी में 44..पर यदि व्यक्ति हिंदी सीखले तो उससे भाषा संबंधी त्रुटि होने की संभावना काफी कम होती है..क्योंकि हिंदी जैसी लिखी जाती है वैसी ही पढ़ी जाती है..अंग्रेजी तो बेनियम की भाषा है जिसमे CAT को कैट औऱ circle को सर्कल पढ़ा जाता है..।
तो कुछ लोग जो अपनी सुविधा के लिए पड़ोसी को पिता मानने के लिए तैयार हो जाएं ..उनकी बातों र् उनके समर्थन की अधिक परवाह ना करते हुए ..भारत को एक स्वाभिमान देश बनने की और एक कदम बढ़ा ही देना चाहिए.. लगभग सभी देश अपनी भाषा को लेकर काफी सतर्क रहते है सिवाय भारत के ।
अब और आगे क्या कहूँ..?

Shashi tharoor ji is right and i hope all the citizen of india agree with tharoor ji.

Hindi honi chahiye official languages

I don't understand why u guys talking like this.I know diversity and unity story thats sounds good. A lot of problems are lie in this.All small territories have other language and u guys know better many states are created on the basis of language.What is wrong in this that all Indians should know or at least understan Hindi.At least make it optional not compulsory in schools.

Hindi is literature enrich ….None of the language have such enrich literature available…..So not for india but to conserv culture hindi should be official language
