  On Nov, 8, 2016, the honourable PM, in a sudden move announced the demonetization of Rs1000 and Rs 500 currency notes. Rs15.44 lac crore worth of notes stopped being legal tender. As a countermeasure to the rampant corruption and penetration of black money in the economy.

  Although the objectives of demonetization was noble, but the implementation was sadly efficient. It gave way from the cash based economy to a less cash economy boosting the digital transactions. JAM trinity - Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile banking got a major boost.
