  1. What I don't get is why pet cats exist if snake-cat-bird is the archetypal terror. Birds I can see — "bird" is a very wide category — but all cats are predatory, so why did they successfully cozy up to us? (I say this as a cat person, so it's kinda personal.)

  2. Jordan, since you mentioned Marduk you should also include the story of how he got "elected" to become the one to face Tiamat, by using the Logos to rebuild a shirt which he destroyed. The archetypal idea of males having to create via the logos to compensate for their lack of reproductive organs (according to Erich Fromm).
