Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts one exam TISSNET (TISS National Entrance Test) for admission to about 55 of its Programs. TISS has 21 schools and 45 centres offering variety of programmes.
Admission to TISS is through TISSNET. Some of the programmes in Social Health may only have a descriptive paper. The coveted MA (HRM & LR) at TISS is considered equivalent to an MBA in HR.
TISSNET is an online entrance exam for the admission to its Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H., MA (HR)) offered at its 4 campuses located at Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad and other locations.
TISSNET Paper Analysis
The TISSNET 2017 test paper awarded the opportunity to the students to score heavily in the English and Logical & Analytical section of the paper. Barring a few questions, almost all the 60 questions were solvable and there was sufficient time to attempt every question.
The only difference were the marks one could get in the General Knowledge section. A student who is thoroughly in tune with the present happenings in the country and abroad and one who has a habit of going through the newspapers regularly, found this section easy to crack. There was a heavy dose of Static GK too which could make a difference in the eventual marks that one gets in the exam.
A good student would have attempted the three sections in the following manner

TISSNET 2018 Pattern
TISS-NET is a Computer based National Entrance test and will be held on Saturday, January 06, 2018, from 2pm to 3.40 pm in 39 centres located in different parts of the country. The computer based test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test.
The objective test will have questions related to General Knowledge; Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning; and English Proficiency.

TISS NET 2018 will not have negative marking for any programme including HRM. Candidates who have applied for a single or multiple programmes will be attempting a single question paper. TISSNET 2018 test paper with 100 questions is to be completed in 100 minutes. This includes candidates who have chosen HRM in combination with other programme/programmes.
The broad division of GK, Logical Reasoning, Mathematics and English Proficiency is expected to be divided into 6 different areas. There is no demarcation of any section and the paper is given as a continuous stream of questions. It is expected that following number of questions could be there in TISSNET 2018.
This year General Awareness will consist of 40 marks, English Proficiency 30 marks, Maths and Logical Reasoning – 30 marks.
TISS NET paper gives enough opportunities to score in the Verbal and RC area as well as in the Mathematics, Data Interpretation and Logical Ability area. However, the area on General Knowledge and Current Affairs is usually the deciding factor for the cutoff.
Highest cut off is applied for MA in HRM & LR in TISSNET and goes in the range of 65 to 69.
