I stopped consuming any kind of alcohol a year ago and this has been an amazing sober year for me. I wouldn’t say i used ti drink a lot, but I definitely noticed the side effects of drinking very morning I woke up after a party.
I am really happy to be a part of a healthy Californian community where 80% of people are non-drinkers.
The most important thing that I am concerned about is that alcohol damages our brain!! More info in the video!

  1. Great video on a subject we all have to deal with in one way or another, with ourselves, family or friends.
    .
    I'm a non drinker and that has had a very positive effect on my life, body and mind.
    I do think in moderation, drinking is ok, if you know you will stop and do.

    But of course it is always better not to, you can drink grape juice, or a healthy drink instead of wine or beer.

    Having said that, I was hooked on sugary drinks like soda, soft drinks with corn syrup (worst than sugar) etc.
    And that can be very bad too, even lead to diabetes, but a sugar high is not as bad as being drunk :).

    I still have to remind myself to get that spring water, orange juice, tea or smoothie sometimes, because soft drinks and soda are everywhere and cheaper and easier to find when you are thirsty.

    Sometimes water cost more:(

    So many people are dead by cars, health, violence and which booze in a person that became drunk had a big influence.

    Many people have been taken advantage of sexually, and other ways when they get drunk!

    I think smoking, cigars, cigarettes, weed, consuming too much sugar, and taking legal and illegal drugs would be a great video next time.

    take care.

    YAB everyone.

  2. I treat alcohol like a very, VERY special-occasion type of thing. You don't have a glass every day or at every meal, I don't care if the bottle is a cheap table wine or the most expensive import from the E.U., or even from Napa or Sonoma Valley. I agree with you that alcohol slows you down and you just can't function as optimally in life if you're under the influence. Though I will admit to buying various bottles of stuff but only for when a recipe I'm trying out calls for it. Making a BBQ sauce? Let me try this whiskey or that brandy. Perhaps a marinade? Oh, let's see if that cabernet will do the trick. Penne alla vodka? Nope…. there's no way you can make that dish without vodka. Steamer clams & mussels? Nope… you gotta cook that stuff in white wine, butter and garlic. No wine…? Well…. you can't use vinegar…. that'd just taste nasty. :

  3. I don't drink alcohol for religious reasons so, I don't really know how does it feel to be drunk. I think that this video is very motivating for those who care about their health to stop drinking.

  4. I drink alcohol on every occasion and I'm in IIT Bombay (India), doing my Master………So after watching this video I would only say what nonsense it is. And if you don't know what IIT Bombay is then Google it you'll get the answer

  5. It's really a very good step that you've made , can you please just do favourite for me, I'll buy a camera next week and I don't know which one I have to choose,can u write plz the name of your camera because I really liked it

  6. The Arabs were great drinkers of wine, God in his mercy, has banned the wine through three important steps.

    The first step was:

    [[[(2/219) They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.]]]

    After the revelation of the above-quoted verse, among the believers there were people who said, since God says the sin is great, and the benefit is very small, we will not drink this wine at all, others have said since there is anyway a small profit we will continue to drink.

    [[[(4/43) O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body]. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving.]]]

    There is a second restriction, not drinking before the 5 compulsory prayers, among drinkers who continue to do so, a party has ceased drinking. They said the wine takes us away from God.

    [[[(5/90) O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.]]]

    When this verse was revealed [the Muslim scholars are unanimous that the wine was prohibited in the year 3 AH] ie 16 years after the beginning of the revelation of the Quran.

    Through this verse we can understand that he who drinks wine is at the same level as:

    – One who worships idols by associating them with God;

    – Makes them filth, dirt;

    – Makes them work of Satan;

    Conclusion:The all success is to refraining from drinking it.

    Allah knows best!

  7. Is this feeling after drinking called hangover? Or am I wrong? BTW, I just hate seeing drank people cos they're so annoying ,you know. All their words about smth philosophic and how is this world working, it's just stupid, after all. So life without alcohol is one of the best decisions that can be made.
