Respected Madam/Sir,
This is in connection to SSC Notice dated 17-11-2017 in which it is mentioned that Age limit will be reckoned as on 1st August, 2018 instead of 1st January,2018

As per the DoPT guidelines (which are generally followed by the SSC), the age limit and educational qualification should be reckoned as on
The crucial date for determining the age limits for competitive examinations held for recruitment by UPSC/SSC etc, in the first half of the Year is the first day of January of the year in which the examination is held; and if the examination is held in the second half of the year, the crucial date will be the first day of August of the year in which the examination is held.
If the guidelines are followed, the job aspirants who were born between 1st Jan 1990 and 31st July 1990 will become overaged. All of us know that SSC has always considered the date for reckoning of age as 01 January as in CGL 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, so it will be injustice for the SSC CHSL 2017 aspirants who have been preparing for the CHSLE 2017 according to the usual trend of SSC but now this abnormality through this notice will devastate their future.
Candidates (like me) and around 1 lakh candidates that have last attempt of SSC CHSL examination are now not eligible for filling up the form for CHSL-2017. Please have mercy on our future, this is the solo exam we are preparing with full dedication.
So we, SSC CHSL Aspirants request DoPT to look into the matter & discuss it with SSC to change Age of Reckoning from 01 August,2018 to 01 January,2018 to help thousands of students in getting one last chance to appear in the CHSL Examination.
Please change Age of Reckoning from 01 August,2018 to 01 January,2018, as it is a matter of many candidates lives and livelihood.
