A 22-year-old Minnesota man got out of a car in North Carolina this past fall and hasn’t been seen since. But his email address has shown up on at graduate school testing sites in New Jersey.

Cole Thomas got out of a car in late November in Benson, N.C. while on a road trip with friends, according to WNCN.com. And had been missing ever since.

Two weeks after he disappeared, an unknown person used Thomas’ Gmail account and paid $205 to sign up to take the Graduate Record Examination, or GRE, at the Educational Testing Service’s facility in Lawrence, the report said. That standardized test took place Dec. 30.

The email address was also used to register for the math portion of the GRE, which was given April 8 at the College of New Jersey…
